Stratton St Margaret Parish Council has been awarded Quality Status following its recent submission to the National Association of Local Councils.
The concept of Quality Parish Councils was launched by the Government in 2003 and gives confirmation and assurance that those awarded with Quality Status are representative, competent and well managed, and able to take an enhanced role in the community.
Stratton St Margaret Parish Councils submission was developed by its Deputy Clerk, Liz Hawkes.
The Parish Council is the first in the Borough of Swindon to be awarded this title. The Parish Council and the Clerk of the Council are delighted with the award and are looking foward to the opportunities that it will bring and hope that other local Parish Councils will also work towards Quality Status to give Parish Councils a higher profile locally.
